We work to guarantee every child a meaningful educational opportunity to graduate from high school prepared for college, careers, and engaged civic participation. We use legal strategies, academic research, and collective advocacy to achieve foundational change.


Legal Action

The Cook v. McKee lawsuit, the pioneering effort to establish a right to education for capable civic participation under the U.S. Constitution, excited students, teachers, parents, researchers, advocates, and policymakers throughout the country.

Public Engagement

DemocracyReady NY is a statewide, nonpartisan, intergenerational coalition of organizations and individuals committed to preparing all students for civic participation.



Through SchoolFunding.Info, we support nationwide efforts to establish strong state constitutional rights to education through litigation and/or statute and to secure the funding needed to uphold those rights for all students.
